Members of the Cook County Sheriff's Athletic League and several other Sheriff's Office Employees participated in the St. Baldrick's fight against against childhood cancer! The event took place on Wednesday, March 10th at the Department of Corrections South Campus facility at 31st & California. Sheriff Tom Dart and his staff were present to show their support for this worthy and important cause. Several Departments of the Sheriff's office stepped forward to represent their respective locations and come together as one Office in a show of support for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. The Department of Corrections Emergency Response Team made an especially strong representation. Deputy Director John Harkins of the Cook County Sheriff's SWAP program chaired the St. Baldrick's committee of the Sheriff's Athletic League. Sheriff's Athletic League members and other volunteers assisted in setting up and made this event a success. The Barbers/Stylist donated their time and are some the kindest and best people. I once heard someone say "no man stands as tall as someone who stoops to help a child" and I can't think of a better reason to go bald!
